Sham device v inert pill: randomised controlled trial of two placebo treatments.
Objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of auricular acupuncture for the treatment of cocaine addiction.
The author conducted a PubMed search to obtain a fair sample of acupuncture clinical trials published in English in 2005. Each article was reviewed for a physiologic rationale, as well as study objectives and outcomes, experimental and control interventions, country of origin, funding sources and journal type.
Objective of this study is to evaluate whether acupuncture improves rates of pregnancy and live birth when used as an adjuvant treatment to embryo transfer in women undergoing in vitro fertilisation.
Objective is to explore whether treatment outcomes are associated with a patient’s degree of general hopefulness, expectations regarding treatment, attributions of health status, beliefs about mind–body dualism, and patient–provider relationship factors.
